Mt. Haruna
Hello everyone, today I'm taking a look at one of the most popular track from Initial D anime and manga ... for those who are not fans of any of those the track is called Mt. Haruna and is pretty hard race track that will challenge your concentration and driving accuracy a bit ... there is some room for a mistake or 2 but even those are a close call to a crush. The track doesn't have any bumps or places where you will see your car flying like crazy like on Mt. Namhansansung therefore it will make it for a enjoyable driving experience, there is a slight chance of sliding here and there but is nothing that you can not master in few runs. For me it took on average around 40-50 runs on this track to get a no crush (clean) run at the end. You may be asking your self why I point out every time in those blogs about no crush or clean runs, well there is a very good reason for that, "clean" racers are respected and they earn double the rewards, higher difficulty tracks give good rewards as it is when you finish a race with a crush or two, but if you double it then it make it worth the effort of improving your skills, and anyway that's the hole goal in every racing game that I have played to date.So let me give you few small tips, for starters there are about 3 type of corners on this maps, light turns like the first one in the video down bellow witch you can take on 100 km/h keeping the speed up to higher rate is possible if you have good drive upgrades (will explain the tuning system at later date), but in the video I had no upgrades on my Cappuccino. Light "S" chained corners, you can find those halfway in the race and towards the end of the race, they are medium difficulty by my standards, sometimes going to fast will make you crush of course but they are easy in general if you keep your speeds around 75-90 km/h depending on how car is handling on track. And the most difficult part of this track are the 5 point hairpins witch forces you to constant hard brake and car tends to slide too as you will see in the video bellow, of course those are not only hairpins on the track, just because is one or 2 chained that doesn't mean they are easy ... they pose same of amount of threat when you attack them. I personally would recommend for you guys to try to keep the speed over 50 km/h, remember it's racing game and getting best time will earn you more even in single player, if you can not keep 50 km/h with your car for starters is ok but you will eventually want more.
In conclusion I would like to say that this track has a Reverse version as well wich changes everything because the race will be in Uphill all the time, that changes the pace to 180o just like that. A class "A" car is recommended for this track but I did race on this track with a class "C" car just fine. Hope you enjoy the video bellow, and I'll see you next to a hellish race track because next I'll cover Mt. Shomaru.
